This month has looked nothing like I had anticipated but, I have still had the opportunity to participate in ministry throughout the past few weeks. A typical day for me in this month looks like waking up around 6:30am and having some private time with the Lord. Then, around 8:45 a group of us head to church for some intercession over the various ministries and missionaries associated with our ministry host and usually either a teaching from our host or some admin work in their office space. We do get some free time from 12-4pm, where we can get lunch, have some time with our team, and anything else we can accomplish within that time. Then we have evening ministry from 4-8pm. Evening ministry looks a little different but, usually I ended up evangelizing to youth/young adults in the community. However, it could also look like grocery shopping for the house or helping plan an English class.

Throughout this month I have mainly been participating in evangelism within the local community. Evangelism does not come naturally to me but, it has been nice getting to know the culture and people of this community and Romania as a whole. Everyday has looked different but, one of my favorite parts of the day is in the morning for intercessory prayer. I do not usually pray out loud because I feel more connected to the Lord when I pray inside my mind but, I realized that praying out loud has a tremendous power. I have loved my time during our prayer time and I have been practicing praying out loud with confidence and authority. I find that time soothing and yet also powerful.

I have also enjoyed getting to know some of the missionaries and mission partners in this area. I have spent a lot of time with Rachel and Cornel Mich. They are an amazing couple who are also missionaries here in Craiova, Romania. Rachel is a former racer who later launched as a full time missionary to Romania and later married Cornel, who is Romanian. The Lord called them to minister to the youth of Craiova and they are actively pursuing relationships with over 30 youth in this area. After spending the past few weeks of ministry with them, anyone can see how passionate they are about this ministry and they have shared so much with me about the youth in Craiova. The youth in this community are clearly spiritually lost and whether they know it or not, are desperate for a heavenly father who loves them beyond measure.

I am so happy that I got to be a part of this ministry for the past month and will share more about the other ministry opportunities I had, like singing songs and telling Bible stories to children in Roma communities and participating in an event for the women of this community. Stay tuned!

  1. I am, as always, so proud of you. I thank God for his care and his leading in your life. Intercessory Prayer, indeed, is powerful and a mystery, that the Holy Spirit guides us to pray in the Will of God for others. God bless you.

  2. Katie, what a joy it is to hear that you loved your intercessory prayer time in the mornings. You talking about praying aloud with authority is so cool. Sounds like you are becoming more confident in the Lord and what He would have you do. You managed to experience a lot of life while in Romania, and you really didn’t even have aa whole month’s worth of ministry. Yet, you still have some stories! Thank you for sharing in this blog.

  3. Katie I’m still so excited for journey and look forward to your blogs. Keep following the voice of Jesus as he leads you this way or that way but never ever the wrong way. God continue to bless Katie on this path. amen
