This month in Romania my squad was partnered with an amazing ministry in Craiova, Biserica Speranta Craiova, also called HOPE Church. This ministry is investing in the city of Craiova in many ways such as youth ministry, Roma communities, English classes, local evangelism, and so much more. I had the opportunity to participate in many of these ministries. This ministry not only allowed us to help support their ministry, especially in their digital ministries, but they also invested so much in each and every one of us in unique and individual ways.

Our ministry hosts, Raul and Ana Costea, were amazing and truly poured into us throughout the month even when we couldn’t  physically be at the ministry location. They still gave us many opportunities to do ministry while we were quarantined inside the ministry house. We were able to do digital ministry and intercession prayer. Everyday someone from the squad would give us prompts to pray for and then we would spend an hour praying over those prompts and listening to what the Lord was guiding us to pray for. The digital ministry was also a large portion of what we did for the month as well. We would help support their Facebook and Instagram pages. Some of us would also edit videos and transcribe them so that they can be translated from English into Romanian.

More importantly, Raul and Ana truly invested in our squad and got to know us. They made it a priority to talk to all of us and know our names. They also held teachings for us to understand our role in the kingdom and what our ministry profile could be. They told us some of their stories and showed us how much they love and grieve for their community. Ana is clearly an evangelist. She loves sharing about the gospel and about the transformative love of the Lord. Raul is amazing and he loves to talk about the Lord. He knows the Bible like the back of his hand and can give you a scripture reference for nearly any question you ask him. They both clearly have a thirst for the Lord and want to share him both with their community and the racers that they open their home to.  This month my squad and I were overwhelmingly blessed by Raul, Ana, and their family.

In my next blog post I will be talking about the amazing opportunities I had to do children ministry in Roma communities!

  1. So glad you followed through with ministry- even while quarantined! I know there was fruit from daily intercession! So good Katie!
