Hi Everyone! 

My name is Katie Abbott. I am 25 years old, I live in Moreno Valley, California, and I am deciding to follow Jesus...I know that might be pretty obvious but, let me explain. 

See, I recently started working towards a business degree at Grand Canyon University and I had a plan for the next 2-3 years to build my knowledge of the business world and how to grow a successful business while also opening my very own business. I was going to take my passion for hand crafting soap and candles and turn it into a business. That was the plan at least but the Lord doesn't really care what my plan is, it all matters what His plan was. 

The World Race is a mission trip that will take me to 11 countries in 11 months all the while showing the love of the Lord to those who need it. I had heard about the World Race a few years ago. I was not in the place to pursue it or even look into it at all. I put it aside and thought it would be something that would never come to fruition. However, around September 2020 I started get that feeling again. It was clear through the calling I was feeling and subtle messages and signs from the Lord that I was meant for this trip. 

It was scary to make that jump and decide to put my original plans on hold and pursue this but, I know this is where the Lord is leading me and I will not ignore that. Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I know that the Lord has a plan for me and this trip is part of it. I am so excited to see how the Lord uses this trip to change me and be the hands and feet He needs me to be.
